ANMC proudly presents a special screening of Paradise Road

As part of our 75th anniversary year, and to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the sinking of the Vyner Brooke, the Australian Nurses Memorial Centre is proud to present a special screening of Bruce Beresford’s film Paradise Road.

The 1997 film tells the stories of women imprisoned in Japanese internment camps in Sumatra during the Second World War. It is based on Betty Jeffrey’s 1954 book White Coolies, which recounts her own experience as an Australian Army Nursing Service nurse held prisoner of war by the Imperial Japanese Army.

Tickets will be $10 for non-members and free for members.
